Insurance issues surrounding e-commerce Before the advent of e-commerce, sales time was spent on helping clients select traditional coverages, such as the following: Computer and crime coverages were a secondary coverage issue. And if anyone asked about Intellectual Property coverage, there was a good chance that the response they heard was, "What's that?" Now that e-commerce has become a de facto part of business-as-normal, sales time has shifted to emphasize less traditional coverages for the online side of an enterprise's operations.
