Other entertainment concerns

As mentioned before, production insurance would typically look to include the following:
  • Production Package
  • Errors & Omissions
  • Workers' Compensation
  • Loan Out Corporations
  • Guild Travel Accident
  • General and Auto Liability

But here are some other things to consider.

Closed Circuit Television & Transmission Failure
Closed Circuit Television & Transmission Failure Insurance protects theater or cinema owners / operators or promoters planning to screen closed-circuit television of sporting or concert event. The policy covers loss sustained due to refunds of admission fees due to breakdown or failure of the transmitting or receiving equipment.

    Promoters
Promoters may be involved in events or venues such as:
  • Concerts
  • Sporting events
  • Closed circuit television
  • Nightclubs and hotel shows
  • Musicals and plays

Promoters may be interested in the following areas of insurance:
  • Workers' Compensation
  • Promoters Liability - Comprehensive General Liability
  • Business Auto Policy
  • Commercial Umbrella
  • Contingency
  • Non-Appearance Indemnity
  • Event Cancellation

    Non-Appearance Indemnity
Non-Appearance Indemnity Insurance provides coverage in the event of cancellation, postponement, or abandonment caused by non-appearance of specified insured person(s). The covered cause of loss could be anything beyond the control of the insured.

Confiscation, Expropriation, Nationalization & Deprivation (Political Risk)
Confiscation, Expropriation, Nationalization & Deprivation Insurance covers loss and/or damage to insured property by, or under order of, the government of the country in which the insured property is covered.

    Adverse Weather Including Rain Insurance
Adverse Weather Including Rain Insurance indemnifies and/or pays extra expense in the event of postponement, cancellation, or abandonment of the insured project due to adverse weather or a measured amount of rain.

    Prize Indemnity
Prize Indemnity Insurance indemnifies the insured for their assumed liability to pay specified prize money. This is no laughing matter if, for example, you are the promoter of an event and as part of that event you offer a skill-based prize to a layperson worth thousands of dollars, such as shooting a hole in one in a golf tournament, making a half court shot during a half-time promotional event in basketball, or hitting a home run in a baseball event.
